THE CHARITABLE WORK OF THE RIGHTLY-GUIDED CALIPH OTHMAN BIN-AFFAN: ITS MEANS, FUNCTIONS AND FIELDS

Abstract Talking about the charitable work of the great companion Othman bin-Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, requires to answer a set of problematic questions, such as: What are the means of charitable work employed by the Rightly-Guided Caliph Othman, may Allah be pleased with him? What functions did charitable work perform during his reign? What areas or fields did it cover? and, How can his charitable work be used to develop the means, functions and fields of charitable work in our contemporary reality?. The current research aims to monitor the means of charitable work in the reign of the Rightly-Guided Caliph Othman, may Allah be pleased with him, to clarify its functions and fields during that time, and then to see practical applications of charitable work that can be guided in people’s reality today. The descriptive and deductive methods were employed by the researcher, based on the following research plan: an introduction, a preface, four chapters and a conclusion. The research comes up with innovative ideas that help to renew the means, functions and fields of charitable work and make it adaptable to today’s changes.
