Abstract:
The Islamic faith and its role in facing contemporary intellectual challenges "Atheism as a case study" Islam is a monotheistic faith that guides Muslims towards God’s direction. In fact, “atheism” has become a threat to the belief of some Muslims who are not imbued with the doctrine of monotheism and its pure sources. The importance of this study lies in highlighting contemporary intellectual challenges and emphasizing the role of the Islamic faith in facing them. This study aims to identify the most prominent features of these intellectual and doctrinal challenges by presenting the role of the Islamic faith in confronting them. To analyze this problematic phenomenon, I employed both the inductive and the analytical approach in analyzing the Quran and the Sunnah. In this regard, I presented the following hypothesis: The Islamic faith, as a divine source, is capable of facing all challenges. As for the limitations of this study, they were mainly restricted to the doctrine of monotheism with no regard to any other belief, and the focus has been on the phenomenon of “atheism” only. This study has come to a number of conclusions; the most important of which are the confirmation of the previous hypothesis and the necessity of returning to the revelation in its two forms (the Quran and the Sunnah) in order to find solutions to all the problems and challenges facing the Islamic nation in particular and humanity in general.
