MEASURES TO CONTROL THE UNDERSTANDING OF SUNNAH AND ITS IMPACT IN SAFEGUARDING THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY FROM MISCONCEPTIONS OF MODERNISTS AND ATHEISTS

Abstract:
Sunnah must be thoroughly comprehended in order to understand the Qur'an, for Sunnah explicates and interprets the Quran. For a long time, Islam enemies haves been endeavoring to cast doubts on Sunnah. Thus, these misconceptions must be dispelled through the right understanding of Sunnah by means of appropriate measures. The problem statement consists in the appearance of misconceptions spread by so-called modernists and other people who lack the correct understanding of Sunnah due to the insufficient knowledge of understanding measures . The aim of this research is to define the concepts of Sunnah, Muslim society, doubtful matters, and modernity, as well as the measures for understanding Sunnah and its role in safeguarding the Muslim community from detrimental allegations. The descriptive analytical approach is employed in defining the measures of understanding Sunnah. The study concluded that: knowing the most significant measures of Sunnah is a key factor in protecting the Muslim society from modernists’ misconception, some of which are identified in order to refute. Finally, the clarification of the role of Sunnah and its function has been attempted.
