ABSTRACT
This study aimed to identify the impact of development in the Islamic societies to achieve sustainable development. The researcher investigated this issue, and identification of what development and sustainable development are and the most important goals and indicators. The challenges facing development and sustainable development were also tackled. In addition, the reality of the overall development from an Islamic perspective in the Arab and Islamic societies has been reviewed. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which was the need to review the accuracy of the goals and the approved educational policies, which should be reviewed and rephrased to achieve the expected standards to improve the development much faster. The study also reached a number of recommendations, the most important of which is re-directing and rationalizing spending in the education and health sectors, linking it to established and standard criteria.
