THE TRUTH OF FAITH IN IMAM AL - DAMAMINI IN THE LAMPS OF THE MOSQUE
The correct and upright faith is the basis of Islam. A person is considered a Muslim if he/she follows the correct faith of Islam, the acceptance and the rejection of person efforts is also based on the correct and upright faith, and correct and upright faith leads to the right way of life. Therefore, Islamic scholars have had different views and thoughts on the concept of truth of faith. Some scholars’ views agreed with the methodology of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah, whereas other scholars’ views agreed with other methodologies. One of these scholars is Al- Damāmīnī who has a views and thoughts on truth of the faith that he presented in his book Maṣābīḥ al-Jāmiʻ : wa-huwa sharḥ al-Jāmiʻ al-ṣaḥīḥ lil-Imām al-Bukhārī. Al-ṣaḥīḥ lil-Imām al-Bukhārī is considered one of the most authentic collections of the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him. This study aims to investigate the scientific biography of Imam Al- Damāmīnī, the words of scholars in the concept of faith, as well as the words of Al- Damāmīnī toward aspects of faith that the scholars disagree on. The study applied the inductive method through tracing the texts on the subject of faith, and the descriptive analysis method on the extrapolated texts. This study concluded that based on the Imam Al- Damāmīnī Scientific biography, he is one of the prominent scholars of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah, scholars have different and varied views and thoughts on the concept of faith in which some views agree with Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah and some views do not and the Imam Al- Damāmīnī views and thoughts in the concept of faith is similar to scholars of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah.
