There is no doubt that the context has its own importance in understanding narrator’s intent, especially in understanding God’s words which are believed to be an interrelated unit. However, the previous Usuliyun did not pay attention to this great subject as importance as it deserves, if they did not define (Context) as a term to show their intent. Therefore, in this brief research, I attempted to highlight the most important guidelines about Quranic concepts. As a part of Quranic interpretation (Tafseer) which is a branch of the principles of Islamic Jurisprudence (Usul Fiqh al-Islami); any attempt to interpret the sacred text without the situation of context will not be a perfect interpretation. However, it will be faulty and far away from the narrator’s intent.
Here upon most of the faulty interpretations (especially the metaphorical ones) are results of avoiding this important principle, since context has its own significance in interpreting the Quran based on the Quran itself. For that reason, it is obvious that this type is the best method of the Quranic interpretations.
In addition, I attempted to explain and emphasize that our Prophet (peace be upon him) was using this method while he interpreted the Quranic verses, as well as his companions were using this same approach. Moreover, most of exegesis, judicial and constitutional interpreters followed this kind of interpretation.
I endeavored to clarify every subject with examples and I sought to prove that the context itself is the most important element during interpretations.
